How to transport a washing machine

Preparation

First of all, it is necessary to drain all the remaining water from the washing machine, for this:

⦁ tilt the washing machine;
⦁ pull out the drain hose from the hole in the pipe and install it below the level of the sump;
⦁ after draining, leave the tray open so that all the moisture has evaporated.

Carefully twist all hoses and cables with tape and clamps, and attach to the machine. Wrap the hose properly with a soft cloth, cling film or bubble wrap for reliability and safe transport.

Do not leave the door and powder tray unattended. During transportation, they may open and be damaged, so secure them in advance with adhesive tape. And most importantly – the bolts for the drum: turn everything over and find them. If you don’t find it and there is no opportunity to buy new ones, fix the drum with the help of improvised means (foam rubber, polystyrene). Pack the body of the washing machine with old blankets or bubble wrap to make sure everything stays in place.

The only thing left to do is to carefully lower, transport and unload.

Transport rules

⦁ It is recommended to transport the washing machine vertically, in a standing position.
⦁ Secure with seat belts before driving.
⦁ When transporting the washing machine, drive carefully and do not brake hard.

As practice shows, some rules sometimes have to be deviated from. It is possible to transport a washing machine “lying down”, but only on condition that there is no other way. You need to put it on the back wall, that is, with the loading door up. It is not recommended to transport it on its side, especially when a powder receiver appears on top. When loading and unloading, use the services of loaders, you will need 2-3 people.
